GM Brands dominate 2025 J.D. Power Sales Satisfaction Survey, Buick takes top mass market spot

GM continues its strong performance to lead the way in customer satisfaction as its portfolio of brands scored notable year-over-year improvements in an annual study analyzing the new-vehicle purchase experience in the U.S.

The 2025 J.D. Power U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index Study found that Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac were among the top performers when it comes to buyer satisfaction — based on the delivery process, dealer personnel, deal negotiation, paperwork completion, dealership facility, and dealership website. More than 32,600 customers were surveyed in this industry-wide study.

Buick emerged as the standout brand, claiming the No. 1 spot in the Mass Market category and ranking 6th overall in the SSI Index rating. This achievement makes Buick the Most Awarded Dealership Sales Experience among mass market brands over the past decade. Additionally, Chevy topped the truck list, proving our dedication to customers spans across our brands.

“Today’s results highlight how the extraordinary work by our field teams and our dealers, combined with our strong portfolio of products, is driving an industry-leading customer experience for all of our brands,” said Duncan Aldred, GM’s Senior Vice President and President of North America. “From streamlined online shopping experiences and transparent pricing to exceptional vehicle delivery experiences and personalized follow-up calls and emails, dealers are constantly innovating, allowing us to outdistance our competitors while making the ownership journey easier, more convenient, and more rewarding.”

Here’s a breakdown of the results:

Mass Market Category:

  • Buick: 1st place
  • Chevrolet: 3rd place (up three spots)
  • GMC: 4th place (up one spot

Premium Category:

  • Cadillac: 7th place (up one spot)

Trucks:

  • Chevrolet: 1st place
  • GMC: 2nd place

Mass Market SUVs:

  • Buick: 1st place
  • GMC: 2nd place
  • Chevrolet: 4th place

The strong J.D. Power results come after GM was recognized earlier this year by S&P Global Mobility for having the Highest Overall Manufacturer Loyalty for the 2024 calendar year. It was the 10th consecutive year GM has received this award, demonstrating the continued trust and confidence customers place in GM’s brands.
